Description

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Tech-HLA-Lab professional to perform high-complexity histocompatibility testing supporting transplant and immunogenetics services. In this role, you will conduct HLA typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching using molecular and serologic methods, maintain instrumentation, and ensure accurate, timely reporting in compliance with CAP/CLIA standards. You will collaborate with pathologists, clinicians, and lab staff, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and support test validation and new technology implementation in a patient-first, research-driven environment.
Perform high-complexity HLA typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching
Operate and maintain molecular and serologic testing platforms
Process and manage specimens and data within the LIS
Ensure accuracy, documentation, and regulatory compliance (CAP/CLIA)
Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and audits
Collaborate with pathologists, clinicians, and lab staff on test interpretation
Assist with validation of new assays and implementation of technologies
Troubleshoot instruments and testing workflows to resolve issues
Follow biosafety and infection control procedures
Contribute to continuous improvement and staff training as needed
HLA typing (serologic and molecular)
Flow cytometry crossmatching
PCR and DNA extraction
Next-generation sequencing workflows
Sample processing and accessioning
Laboratory information systems (LIS)
Quality control and proficiency testing
CAP/CLIA lab standards
